Counsellor Directory

This innovative membership service serves to promote business information about your counselling practice, specialized services and skills as well as the ability to upload a profile picture and business logo. With futurist trends heading towards a generation that seeks information online as well as a specific set of skills, knowledge and experience, the CPCA believes this directory will provide a competitive edge for marketing our member's counselling services across Canada to the public, insurance providers, EAP contractors and government for verification of your legitimacy. All members who are in "good standing" will be approved to list their contact information in the directory on an annual basis. It allows our members to login to their directory listing once it has been approved and make any changes to their contact information.

Description

I have been a counsellor and community educator since 1995. I have worked primarily for non-profit community-based organizations providing a range of supports to children, youth, and adults. As well, I have operated a private practice providing EFAP services through Walmsley and Associates. For two years I worked as Mental Health Clinical Supervisor for a non-profit Indigenous serving organization in northern BC.

Currently, I am a research manager working in the area of arts and health. This allows me to have time to engage in private practice once again. My focus is on supporting adult individuals to develop better relationships with themselves, and thereby others. I employ a variety of counselling tools depending on the best fit for the person seeking service. I have training in CBT, arts-based assessments, mindfulness-based practices; and professional development in dance/movement therapy, narrative therapy, and rhythm/music therapy. I bring to my work an anti-colonial, anti-oppressive lens strongly rooted in feminist methodology.
